College Expedition
The hard truth is that college is a daunting journey for people with ADHD. Projects, big assignments, tests, and quizzes all stretch across months, with a constant stream of deadlines and small tasks to track along the way. Staying motivated and present all the way through is difficult- it’s all too easy to get overwhelmed and turn back before reaching the summit.
That’s where having a guide can make the difference.
Your way forward
Every great expedition needs a seasoned guide. As a coach and fellow traveler who’s been on this path, I’ll help you check your bearings as we go and break the overwhelming into smaller, manageable steps that keep you moving towards your goals.
Our expedition
A successful expedition starts with understanding what comes naturally to you, knowing when to ask for support, and being open to reflecting on your mistakes with your guide. This isn’t about perfection, it’s all about maintaining momentum and that’s how we’ll reach the summit together.
What Coaching Actually Looks Like: People often aren’t sure what coaching involves, so here’s the walk-through of how we’ll work together. Of course, it varies significantly from client to client.
- We start by taking stock. First, we map your interests, your strengths, and the challenges in front of you — a clear inventory of who you are and what you’re working with.
- Then we make sense of the terrain. I’ll explain how executive functioning and ADHD genuinely work in the brain — and then we return to those inventories to pinpoint your specific executive functioning strengths and sticking points. For most people, this is the first time anyone’s actually explained it.
- From there, we get to work. We take the real things you’re navigating — big projects, deadlines, decisions — and work through them together. You think out loud, untangle what’s tangled, and we turn it into a plan you can actually act on.
- And I stay in it with you. I provide steady accountability and help you troubleshoot the problems that naturally crop up when managing your thoughts, emotions, and behavior is part of the terrain. You won’t be doing this alone.
